“Boom - Married”

Having a wedding around the beginning of November often involves some pyrotechnics. This firwork display at Sammy and Tristains Wedding at Lodge on Loch Lomond was honestly one of the most exiting I’ve seen at a wedding.

“Dreich”

One of my favourites from this “summer”.

Despite the incessant downpour trying its best to wash this wedding party out, it was nowhere near enough to dampen the spirits of these awesome humans. The Bride and Groom insisted on having this shot. We waited for a break in the weather to no avail. After taking the group shots inside, I informed all of the guests that the happy couple wanted everyone outside for a photograph. I instantly became the most hated person in the room with comments such as “WHIT?!” and “Yer Joking”. Prior to this, I asked the hotel if they had any spare umbrellas and I managed to round up the dozen or so used in this shot! As you can see, despite the initial reluctance, everyone was delighted to take part in the fun! We live in Scotland - we should be used to this by now.

Huge thanks to Charlene and Gary McBain - Congratulations Guys

This one was taken in Glasgow Central Train Station on a busy Saturday in July. I had the idea that I wanted to capture the energy and movement of the busy station whilst keeping the happy couple in sharp focus and I was quite pleased with the resulting image.

Special thanks to Hellen and Johnny, Married at the Grand Central Hotel, July 2019 - Congratulations Guys!

Golden Hour happens twice a day (or in Scotland less than once per year as it requires the sun to be present). It is the time just after dawn and just before dusk when the sunlight is at its weakest due to its position in the sky. This is a photographers favourite time of day because the light is so even and soft with a warming golden tint. This shot was taken shooting into the sun and the shadows were recovered in post production. I love the way the Brides veil has been illuminated with this golden light.

Look at the colour of those feet! This image was taken during the Grooms Speech. Clearly these little girls didn’t really connect with what was being said so decided to retire to the empty dance-floor for a rest and to play with some bubbles and dolls! Love these little surprise unique moments that always arise during a wedding shoot!
